With a view to meet the requirement of Industries and particularly in local industries and to facilitate development/ enhancement  in technical skills/qualifications along with employability of local unemployed youth as well as the State of Odisha, Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Govt. of Odisha has set up Government Polytechnic, Darlipali, Sundargarh under joint venture with NTPC,NTPC Bhavan,SCOPE COMPLEX,7  Institutional Area,Lodi Road,New Delhi-110003.The campus is covering a total area of 5.00 Acre of land with Administrative-cum-Academic Block ,Workshops,Cafeteria,parking area and land scaping at the initial phase.

The institute is situated at a distance of 35 kms from Jharsuguda Railway Station ,25 km from VSS Airport.Jharsuguda, at a distance of  25 kms from District Head quarter Sundargarh and  in the vicinity of NTPC,Darlipali,Sundargarh.
